How does Angels Den Work?

Angels Den is here to get businesses the funding they need to grow and thrive. We introduce businesses such as yours to Business Angels who have the cash ready to invest. For us it's about getting as many businesses in front of as many Angels as is humanly possible and presenting them in the most positive and painfree way.

We hold your hand every step of the way, telling you exactly how to succeed once you meet them to present your business idea. After all it can be quite daunting if you’ve never done this before!

To help you get started we run free Advice Sessions every 2 weeks in London and around the UK, where you can book a half hour meeting with one of our team to get one to one advice on how to succeed. This is your opportunity to ask the experts anything you want from general queries on structuring the funding, valuing your business, how to refine your pitch or anything that's troubling you. Register with us to get on the invitation list for these sessions, as well as getting tips on finding funding.

So, what are the steps involved?

1. Create an Executive summary of your business using our template.
2. We’ll review it and give you a few tips on how to improve it so it appeals to Angels.
3. Once you're satisfied with it you can move onto your full business plan  – we have included a lot of help to make it easier to  write a good business plan
4. If you want more advice, we can then give you a full half hour review of your business plan by phone or in person, to help improve it.
5. We circulate your Business Plan to our 3000+ Angels.
6. Attend Pitching School to help you get your pitch perfect and ensure you succeed at the pitching event
7. Pitch your idea to a room full of Business Angels at a Speed Funding event (with a colleague if that helps your pitch). Consistently 90% of people pitching find at least one interested Angel at these events.
8. Mingle with the Angels over a glass of wine to begin hammering out a deal. We’ll also give you feedback here as to which Angels are interested in your business and what they liked and didn't like.
9. In addition to our public Speed Funding events, our dedicated Regional Managers run a private meeting service, where we’ll put you in front of Business Angels who want to invest in your business either at individual or private viewings. They build relationships with our Angels so they know what will light them up.

We also send an Investment booklet out to our Angels that highlights recent businesses pitching for funding in a readable and accessble way.

Finally we pool the resources of a lot of Angels into our Best of Angels Den Fund which can invest in only in businesses pitching on Angels Den.

How much do we charge for all these services?

There’s a £799 + VAT fee to use all the services listed above. Only when you’ve got your funding do we ask for the 5% success fee. It might be a good idea to build this into the amount you are asking for so it comes out of the investment and doesn't eat into your available cash.
