AngelsDen provides an important service for any start-up - instant access to interested investors. Two things stand out for us - the quality of investors and the support of the AngelsDen team.
The quality of investors we've met has been excellent. We're in the middle of talks with two, and even though we obviously would like to secure funding, even if that doesn't happen I have to say the process so far has been worth the money, because of the quality of the input from investors and the invaluable experience we've had of pitching and receving feedback. Our SpeedFunding experience was a revelation - it was exhausting but the most productive hour and a half of our little start-up's life so far.

I write this, the day after a speedfunding event in London. So far, I feel as though I've had a good opportunity to present to good number of potential investors in a cost effective manner.
The strongest feature of using the site, is being to put yourselves in front of a number of angels without the high costs of involvement of typical angel networks. As we all know, most angel networks charge the earth with a significant risk attaching to become involved with them. This is highly undesireable for a new start business that is trying to conserve cashflow as far as possible. Angel's Den seems to break down this access cost.
As I write, we haven't found the investment funding yet, but it's just one day after the event, and we have hopefully generated enough interest to find the money that we need to take our business to the next level. I found the Speed Funding event an excellent and original way to meet many angel investors in one evening, and to practice your business pitch to 3mins - what a challenge!
The location was great, and filming of the event adds a new dimension to angel investing which I haven't seen at any other events before.

I was fortunate enough to attend a free Angels Den live pitching event that was held up in Yorkshire, only a few weeks ago. The afternoon was extremely well organised and gave me the opportunity to pitch to a board of investors (with an audience) and to about 10 different investors face to face on a more personal level about my business proposal. The event was a little daunting as I had never been in this sort of situation before however it was also hugely exciting and exhilarating too!
I ended the day with a great result; a new investor for the mere price of a full tank of petrol. It was an extremely worthwhile day coupled with a fantastic proposition.
I have now been in conversations with my investor for the past month and it’s going from strength to strength every day – I imagine having funds safely in the bank account before Christmas when my business plan will finally become a reality.
The Angels Den team also showed me a much unexpected kindness on the day by personally telling me how much they enjoyed listening to my pitch – this really fueled my confidence even further – thanks Angels Den! VA - London 7 November 2008
Angels Den has created an excellent format for matching early stage capital providers with those looking to raise money. Choosing the right investor is tricky for any business and the Speedfunding format provides a rapid means of identifying several options and being able to compare them directly. The wide range of types, style and interests of the potential investors at the events means that a good proposition will have an excellent chance of attracting investment, as we did. At first I felt a bit reluctant to pay the fee to rgister my business plan as finance was very tight for my start-up business. I paid in August and by November I was in front of a room full Angels pitching my business plan. Pitching your business in front of 15 angels for 3 minutes each one after the other is no mean task! Especially as last night was my first experience of doing this. I think Angels Den is a fantastic idea. I’m part of a group of like-minded Angels who have made quite a number of investments. I’ve got no fixed idea on what we do and don’t invest in, I’m just looking for a great idea. I thought the company I invested in looked exciting and it has proved to be exactly that. DG 2 Jan 2008
