Angels Den was launched in 2007 to provide a fast and effective way to connect Angels and entrepreneurs to help Angels to find great investments and entrepreneurs to get access to the growth capital vital to their success.Within 6 weeks we had funded our first deal and Angels have been joining us at a rate of around 100 per month since then, so that now we have over 3000 Angels worldwide and over 10,000 entrepreneurs. We spent the first year evolving our pitching events before we invented our unique SpeedFunding format. With 2 years' experience and over 7000 individual pitches under our belt we believe we have the most effective way of connecting entreprenuers and Angels. At every event, week in week out, 90% of Angels find at least one business they want to invest in and 90% of entrepreneurs pitching find at least one Angel.Angels Den was formed by Bill Morrow, who came from an Investment Banking and Recruitment background and Lois Cook, who had been working with Entrepreneurs and start up companies. By combining their knowledge of the needs of investors and entrepreneurs they have created a community that is at the heart of entrepreneurship in the UK and a team of 15 people run and support this service across the UK with 3 events per month.With the help of The Standard Chartered Private Bank and Andrew Deane they launched this service in Singapore in March 2010. Already there is great interest and support from the business community and government as well as Angels looking for good quality investments and entrepreneurs looking for business partners to help them grow.
